This major children’s period drama series was adapted from Joan Aiken’s novel of the same name. The story is set in a slightly altered historical England during the reign of King James III. In addition to filming in several counties of the UK, a considerable quantity of the shooting took place on large constructed sets. Various visual effects techniques such as glass shots, models and matts were also used to enhance the visual environment.
