Antoine Verlaque (Roger Allam), an Investigating Judge in Aix-en-Provence with his romantic partner Marine Bonnet (Nancy Carroll), investigates the murders, mysteries and dark underbelly of their idyllic home in the south of France.
My challenge and brief was to create sets that would enable the majority of the filming to take place in the UK with only 2 weeks of the 12-week shoot being undertaken in France.To achieve this aim, I created a number of constructed sets that included Antoine’s apartment, Marine’s apartment and the Brasserie St Marc. Other dressed UK locations included Antoine’s office and the police station interiors.
